Steal An Egg is a Roblox tycoon game. You grab eggs, hatch them into pets and let those pets earn Cash for you. Then you spend that Cash on upgrades so you can do it all again, only bigger. What is Steal An Egg?
Steal An Egg is a simulation game with a tycoon twist. Up to 7 players share a server, and you can't make private servers. It works on desktop, console, mobile and tablet.
The game's own description puts it simply:
- Steal eggs from pets

How the core loop works
Everything in the game feeds into one loop:
- Get eggs. Steal them from pets or from other players.
- Grow and hatch them. Eggs grow before they hatch. The Growing Eggs menu has a Grow All button.
- Equip your pets. Each equipped pet earns Cash every second. Floating popups like +$992K show the money coming in.
- Upgrade. Spend Cash on your pen, extra equip slots and your treadmill.
- Train for Speed. Run on the treadmill to build your Speed stat.
Better pets earn far more. A Common Chicken earns $1/s, a Cosmic Whale Shark earns $604K/s and a Beluga Whale earns $2M/s. That's why chasing rarer pets matters so much.
Your first game, step by step
- Look around the Forest zone. It has 8 pets to find, including Chicken, Dog, Bird, Burrowing Owl, Bear and Fox.
- Steal your first eggs. Grab eggs from pets.
- Let them grow. Check the Growing Eggs menu, which has a Grow All button.
- Hatch and equip. Open your Equipped Pets panel and press Equip Best so your strongest pets are earning.
- Collect your Cash. Watch for the money popups as your pets earn.
- Train on the treadmill. This raises your Speed.
- Buy upgrades. Put your Cash into your pen and equip slots, then repeat the loop.
How to earn Cash faster
- Always press Equip Best. After every hatch, check your best pets are the ones earning.
- Chase rarer pets. One rare pet can earn more than a whole pen of common ones.
- Fill the Pet Index. Index entries give rewards. For example, one Limited Mythic entry gives $18M Cash.
- Work on Boss Mastery. 1 boss kill = 1 Mastery. Milestones unlock eggs: the Biohazard Egg at 1 kill and the Experiment Egg at 3 kills.
- Keep your pen clear. A full pen stops you placing new eggs or pets, so your progress stalls.
What to buy first
Spend your Cash on things that help you earn more:
- Upgrade Pen. More room means more eggs and pets.
- +1 EQUIP. Each extra slot is one more pet earning for you.
- Upgrade Treadmill. Your treadmill is where you train for Speed.
These upgrades can get expensive. Upgrading the pen from Level 6 to Level 7 costs $500B, +1 EQUIP also costs $500B, and the treadmill upgrade costs $2T Cash or 499 Robux.
The game also sells Robux items, like X2 MONEY! (399 Robux), X2 GROWTH SPEED! (467 Robux), DOUBLE Your SPEED (299 Robux) and cash packs. They're optional purchases.
Controls and menus
The game works on desktop, console, mobile and tablet. These are the main buttons to know:
- Settings: the gear icon in the top-left bar. It has Music and SFX sliders, plus toggles for View Other's Pets and View Your Pets. Both are on by default.
- Shop and Index: buttons on the left side of the screen.
- Slow Mode: a toggle on the left, below Shop and Index.
- Sample Shop and Boss Mastery: open them with the green potion button on the right.
- Hotbar: slot 1 holds your Bat. Eggs and other items go in the next slots.
- Equip Best: in the Equipped Pets panel.
You'll also see timers on screen, such as the egg, night and potion timers. Keep an eye on them as you play.
Tip: you can turn off View Other's Pets in Settings to hide other players' pets.
Common beginner mistakes
- Letting the pen fill up. When you see "Your pen is Full!", you can't place new eggs or pets. Upgrade it or make room.
- Forgetting Equip Best. It makes sure your best pets are the ones equipped and earning.
- Ignoring the Pet Index. Entries can give you Cash rewards.
- Buying Robux packs to rush. The biggest cash pack gives $8M, while upgrades like +1 EQUIP can cost $500B. Better pets and upgrades help you more.
- Not watching your inventory. Your pet inventory has a limit, so check it now and then.
