Chop A Forest Pets and Eggs: Acorn Egg, Molten Egg and Equip Best

You can get pets in Chop A Forest without spending any Robux. Beat Old Barkback, the Oak Wood boss, and he drops an egg. Hold F to pick the egg up, then open it from the Pets menu. After that, one click on EQUIP BEST puts your strongest pets to work. This guide covers where eggs come from, how to open them, how equipping works, and which egg costs Robux.

Where eggs come from

So far you can get eggs in three ways:

  • Zone bosses (free). Kill Old Barkback, the Oak Wood boss, and he drops an Acorn Egg along with gems.
  • Guardians at night (free). If you beat a Guardian at night, you have a chance at an egg.
  • The Shop (Robux). The Molten Egg is sold in the FEATURED tab for Robux.

The boss egg is the easiest one to plan for, because you know exactly when it drops.

How to get the Acorn Egg from the boss

The boss only wakes up once its zone is fully cleared, so the egg comes at the end of a zone.

  1. Chop every tree in the zone. Keep an eye on the % cleared bar at the top right.
  2. At 100%, you'll see "Old Barkback stirs...", then "OLD BARKBACK IS AWAKE".
  3. Get the AK-47 from the WCT Supply Crate. It costs 10 coins, so don't press the Robux button.
  4. Press 3 to equip the rifle, then shoot the boss from a distance.
  5. When you see "OLD BARKBACK IS SLAIN", walk over the gems and the Heartwood log.
  6. Walk up to the Acorn Egg and hold F for about 1 second. A quick tap won't pick it up.

Opening eggs from PETS > EGGS

Once an egg is yours, you open it from the Pets menu.

  1. Press P, or click the paw PETS button on the right side of the screen.
  2. Click the EGGS tab.
  3. Pick an egg you own (such as your Acorn Egg) and open it.
  4. The new pet goes into your pet storage, which holds up to 50 pets.

The Pets menu has three tabs: Pets, Eggs and Index.

Using EQUIP BEST

Opening a pet doesn't put it to work. You have to equip it.

  1. In the Pets menu, click the PETS tab.
  2. Click EQUIP BEST.
  3. Your best pets fill the 3 slots. The counter shows "Equipped x/3".
  4. Check the Team boost shown in the menu, for example +9% Power.
  5. Close the menu with the red X.

Equipped pets follow you around while you chop. Click EQUIP BEST again every time you open a new egg, so your strongest pets are always the ones in use.

The Molten Egg and its pets

The Molten Egg is in the Shop (press R, then the FEATURED tab). It's an exclusive egg that's only there for a limited time, and a timer shows how long is left. Its pets only come from this egg.

Prices in Robux:

  • 1 Egg: 99
  • 3 Eggs: 279
  • 10 Eggs: 849

Pets known to come from the Molten Egg:

  • Molten Rhino: Rare, 3 stars, a black and orange pet. It gives +9% Power.
  • Molten Mole: Rare.
  • Magma Bear: Epic.
  • Inferno Wolf: Legendary (about 9%).
  • Volcanic Titan: Secret.
  • Molten Slime: listed in the shop as one of the egg's exclusive pets.

You don't need the Molten Egg to play or to get pets. If a Robux popup opens, close it with the X.

Which eggs cost Robux?

  • Acorn Egg: free. It drops when you beat Old Barkback.
  • Eggs from night Guardians: free, but you only get one some of the time.
  • Molten Egg: costs Robux (99 for one).

Night Guardians and eggs

When the "NIGHT FALLS" banner appears, monsters climb out. Beat a Guardian at night and you have a chance at an egg. At dawn the monsters sink back down, so fight while it's still dark.
